Federer scrapes through

Got a bit lucky with Federer yesterday. I watched it up to the end of the second set when Ginepri was serving for the match. Decided to lay Ginepri at this point around the 1.3ish mark for £40 to win about £150 as Ginepri had a hell of a lot of break points on his service throughout that set but Federer was off the mark. Anyway, to cut a long story short, Federer won it and I decided to then lay Federer to cover my outright bet of £160 on him in case he did another Toronto. As it was he won the last set 6-0 and I made do with the £50 extra.

That was later reduced to about £30 because Roddick pulled out at the last moment. I thought i’d get this back as he hadn’t struck a ball but apparently once the tournament starts all outright bets are in so to speak so that’s £20 down the shoot.

James Blake bt Simon tonight so we’ve at least still got him and the Fedexpress. Speaking of Fed, I’ve noticed his price has drifted to 3.45 – I think that is now real value. He’s warmed up now after his first match and will gradually play his way into this one. I don’t think there’s any doubt that he’ll reach the final now and that in itself will provide a good opportunity to trade back. To boot I think this week will prove one too many for Nadal and he may not even get there to contest the title, not sure who he’ll lose to mind but Fed at 3.45 is just too big.

Watched Panorama tonight which was basically just a re-hash of the original programme but with a tiny bit more evidence chucked in. The whole thing obviously stinks of corruption and it will be interesting to see the reaction to all of this over the next few days. It will be even more interesting to see what action is taken, we shall wait with baited breath.

Golf starts tomorrow, looking forward to it all.
